Hi no of course not it is the place where the presence of God was during the time of the Exodus and located in the Tabernacle. Of course that time ended since the Hebrews could not obey the Law Covenant that is why the Ark is gone. It was never a weapon, but if anyone should touch the ark death would come from God whose presence was above it, 2 Samuel 6:1-8. This was important because it tells of God’s physical time on Earth and the respect people should have for the place where God resided. There were many miracles connected with the Ark of the Covenant or rather with the presence of God above the angels.
It was first called the Ark of the Testimony and it first appears in the book of Exodus because of the building work of the Tabernacle. This was the intended purpose of the Ark as a part of the Temple the Most Holy Place. The last place it is recorded in the Bible is in Revelation where it was “seen” again. The purpose of being in the final book of the Bible indicates the arrival of the New Heavens and the new Earth, Isaiah 65:17–19 and Jeremiah 31:31-34.
